I’m Back…

What’s going on in my life these days…

It has been a long time since I did a post on my blog. The reason for that being I have been very busy building and designing websites for clients. I would much rather be doing sites for others than myself, because that means I am getting paid! Anyways, I just wanted to give a quick update to what is going on in the life of Casey Hunsaker…

My recent ventures…

In my last post, a ling time ago, I talked about the online media company I have been working with named Sleek Development. Working with them has been awesome! We have done roughly 20-25 different websites for all sorts of different companies. Everyone from FTR Security to Damaged Goods Company… We mainly use the CMS WordPress, but occasionally use other platforms such as Magento and Drupal. My personal favorite is WordPress, but I don’t limit myself to only using that CMS (Content Management System). I love building and designing websites, and therefore I love my job!

What esle do I enjoy?

Other than building custom websites for people, I have been trying to get out on the golf course as much as I can. It is obviously pretty hard to golf here in SLC in the winter, but whenever the snow melts enough to see the grass, I get out there. Also, we have a few heated driving ranges here that I like to visit during the winter months. It is strange, yet very fun, to be able to go hit a bucket in short sleeves in the middle of December! It’s truly amazing how well those heaters work! (Thank you to Mulligans for that!)

Other than golfing, I enjoy playing Fantasy Football (which I am in 1st place in right now). I also enjoy Skateboarding, watching movies like Knight and Day, Top Gun, Street Dreams, Happy Gilmore, Dumb and Dumber, and any other action, sport, or comedy related movie.

I try to spend time with family and friends whenever I get the chance. That is how I stay humble and grounded in this day and age of transparency and constant deadlines! You have to have a good family, or life just isn’t as enjoyable as it should be!

Final Thoughts…

I know this is kind of a random post, but I just wanted to let whoever wants to know what I have been up to, as well as what I enjoy in life. I have been very busy working with the different companies and ventures I am involved in, and I hope to keep these businesses going for a long time!

I also hope to start my own online company very soon, aimed to help anyone looking for online help or websites. I will keep you posted on when that happens right here on my blog as well.

Sleek Development

Affiliate Marketing and Me…

Over the past few weeks I have been talking about my websites and how to get your name out there.  Now that I have my sites up and running in full, I decided it was time to become an Affiliate of all the companies out there that need people to advertise for them!

First I went to CJ.com (Commission Junction) and signed up with them.  You must have a legitimate website to sign up.  This site is for anyone who has a parked domain and can advertise different products and brands that relate to your website.  After signing up, and entering your tax information, you go through and find the different companies that you can advertise on your site. For example, with www.golfwithcub.com I chose companies like Golf Galaxy, Callaway Pre-Owned, Shop.CallawayGolf.com, GolfGifts.com, InTheHole!Golf.com, The Medicus clubs, and golftees.com.  The way it works is those companies decide how much commission you will get for every lead or sale that people make from your site! So if someonoe came to my golf site, went to the Golf Galaxy Link I have, and bought something from that site I would make a 10% commission on that sale.  It is a very simple concept and is easy to do!

For my www.cubskateboarding.com I chose to work with companies like Etnies Shoes, ProBoardShop.com, ShredSled, and many more to choose from.  So if someone needs some new skate shoes and goes to Etnies from my site, I will make an 8% commission on that sale.  It is a great way to make money on the web! The only hard part is getting enough traffic to come to your site so that you can make money!

So anytime you may need some golf equipment or skate clothes you can go to my websites and take care of it! My websites are growing by the day…

I have talked a lot about my 2 websites I have been starting.   Now they are growing to the size I want them to be at!  WWW.GOLFWITHCUB.COM Is getting really big!  I have been using WordPress for my websites and I love it!  It is fairly easy to understand, and has many upgrades and features that make it great to work with!  I bought the domains from Godaddy.com, I got the hosting from BlueHost, and have built the sites with WordPress.  None of this would be possible with out my good friend JR Farr, who has helped me every step of the way!

I also have WWW.CUBSKATEBOARDING.COM.  I haven’t worked on this site quite as much as the golf site, but I will!  I can promise that cubskateboarding.com will be a huge skate website soon!  I plan on working on both of these sites every day and I want to open even more in the future!  You will certainly hear much more from me in the future.

I also want to thank everyone that has visited my websites! All of your visits and comments are greatly appreciated!  If you click on the “Ads by Google” you are making me money, so click away on the ads! You dont have to buy anything, but just the clicks help me out!  Thank you for all the interest in my sites!  I will keep you posted on all my endevours in the future!

How to grow your websites…

So I have recently finished 2 new websites. I have mentioned them in previous posts… One golfing website, www.golfwithcub.com. The other is a skateboarding website, www.cubskateboarding.com.

Now it is one thing to have a couple websites, it is a completely different thing to have traffic on your sites! I am fairly new in the website game, and in order to get people to come to my sites I must get my name out there. There are many ways to get your name/brand out there for people to see. I will let you know what I have been doing.

First, there is a google run website named www.adsense.com. Here you go through and enter your websites in as you make your account with them. From there you must have a theme on the website that has a place for advertisements. I have got my themes from www.woothemes.com. You must find where to enter in the adsense html code and enter it into the backside of your website. From there google ads will show up on the site. You make money anytime someone clicks on these ads. This is one way to make money off a website.

From there, you need people to learn about your site. To do that you go to a site called www.adwords.com. After setting up your account, you can go through and pick out a bunch of keywords that are related to your website. When you find the keywords you like, you make a bid on them and buy them. After you have your keywords, anytime somesearches for any of those words you have bought, your website will show up in the sponsored links on google. For example, if your have a shoe website, you would want a keyword like “Nike Air Jordans”. Then since you own that word on google, when some one searhes for “Nike Air Jordans” your site will show up first! This is a great way to get people you want to your website!

Those are just a couple of the many ways out there you can use. I just wanted to share some of the ways I am getting ym sites more popular and more traffic. Hope some of this information has helped shed a light on ways you can get your name out there on the web.
